Your Qlik environment needs to work as it should. Not just today, but also when your organization is asking very different questions three years from now. We build new Qlik environments, modernize existing ones, and migrate them to Qlik Cloud.
Clients usually come to us at one of these points.
You are setting up a Qlik environment for the first time and want to get it right from the start: a sound data model, dashboards that people actually use, and a setup that will not get in your way later.
You have been working with Qlik for years, but the environment has grown along with the organization and is starting to hold you back. Reloads are slowing down, the data model has become difficult to navigate, or you want to migrate from QlikView or on-premises Qlik Sense to Qlik Cloud.
You have inherited a Qlik environment that no one fully understands anymore, that is difficult to maintain, or that people no longer trust. Before changing anything, we first map out how it works.
Whatever the reason, there is often another factor: you are looking for a partner who will give your environment the attention it needs.
A Qlik environment is more than a set of apps. Underneath is a platform that needs to be configured properly: the data model, reloads, permissions, and the way new apps are deployed. We build that platform with the same care as the dashboards on top of it.
The data model determines whether everything else works. A well-designed associative model lets users explore their data freely; a poor model becomes slow, unpredictable, and unreadable for the next developer. We build sound models, keep reloads fast with incremental loading strategies, and ensure your source systems are properly integrated. Working with larger data flows? We also look at the layer underneath, using Qlik Data Integration or a separate data foundation.
A dashboard that looks good but no one opens has no value. We build apps that help people find the answers they need without requiring a manual. That means making choices: which questions should this dashboard answer, what should you leave out, and how do you ensure it is still being used after six months?
As long as you have one app, management is not a problem. Once you have twenty apps, multiple teams, and a changing group of developers, it becomes one. We configure your Qlik environment to keep it manageable, with clear permissions, consistent naming, documented decisions, and a process for deploying apps safely. We use the coding conventions and tools we have developed ourselves over the years, such as SenseTheme for consistent styling.
Migrating to Qlik Cloud is not simply a matter of copying everything over. Data flows, permissions, and distribution work differently, and not everything can be transferred one-to-one. We guide the transition from QlikView or Qlik Sense on-premises and ensure that your environment is better structured after the migration than before. Want to know exactly how such a migration works? We cover it in detail on our blog.
Are you looking for someone to handle the entire process or just one part? We can do either. Sometimes we set up a complete environment; sometimes we solve one specific problem. We look at what you need.
We have worked with Qlik since 2013, and we are always happy to share what we learn along the way. Barry Harmsen, founder of Bitmetric, is co-author of QlikView for Developers. Since 2013, we have trained other advanced Qlik consultants at the Masters Summit for Qlik, and we have been writing technical Qlik articles since 2010—first on QlikFix.com and now on our own blog. We also publish coding conventions, our Friday Qlik Test Prep series, and tools such as SenseTheme, which many Qlik developers now use themselves. That depth of expertise is reflected in our work.
Knowledge transfer also works both ways: the more your own team understands, the less dependent you are on us. We are fine with that. We want your environment to work even when we are not there.
Not a technical expert? Then it is simple. Whatever you want to do with Qlik, we will make sure you get the right support. We have completed more than 150 Qlik projects in sectors ranging from media and healthcare to logistics and fresh produce. We have been a Qlik partner since 2013, are an official Qlik Distribution Reseller, and our consultants are certified.
After more than ten years of Qlik projects, you know what works and what does not. We have captured that experience in a standard approach: the Bitmetric Blueprint. It is not an extensive playbook that we impose on every client, but a set of agreements and standards that keeps us from reinventing the wheel every time.
For Qlik, we use the Bitmetric Blueprint for Qlik. It defines how we set up a Qlik environment: from data modeling and architecture to access permissions, connections, deployment, and how we roll out apps. Think of it as a basic recipe: we keep it lightweight for a small environment and expand it for a larger organization with multiple teams. The result is an environment built around choices that have proven themselves many times, rather than decisions made up on the spot.
Our broader approach also applies to Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and TimeXtender. Learn more about the Bitmetric Blueprint on our Consulting page.
A selection of the Qlik projects we have completed across different sectors and for different needs. The common thread: environments that people actually use.
“Customers expect a modern customer experience. Bitmetric helped us introduce an advanced portal for reporting on and analyzing digital campaigns with minimal resources, thanks to Qlik technology.”
“A large international client we share needed support in creating highly advanced ad hoc financial reports using Qlik technology. Bitmetric not only provided the best solution to the problem but was also a professional and attentive partner throughout the entire process.”
“We have come to know Bitmetric as a no-nonsense organization without any fluff. That fits well with one of our core values: being down-to-earth. Topgeschenken Nederland BV recommends that anyone with a data visualization question contact Bitmetric.”

Building is just one part of the process. Depending on where you are, one of these pages may be a better place to start.

Yes. We guide migrations from QlikView and Qlik Sense on-premises to Qlik Cloud. Not everything transfers directly: data flows, permissions and distribution work differently in Qlik Cloud, so we first assess what you have and then determine what can be carried over as is and what would be better rebuilt. Our guide to migrating to Qlik Cloud explains how this process works.
Both. We set up new Qlik environments and improve or modernize existing ones. With an existing environment, we usually start with a brief health check so we understand its current setup before changing anything.
Yes, we do that regularly. We start with a brief health check in this case as well, so we understand the data model, apps and overall setup. We then know what we’re taking over and which areas need attention, and we can begin maintaining or further developing the environment.
Yes, we work with all three. Much of our work is shifting to Qlik Cloud, but we also support Qlik Sense on-premises and existing QlikView environments, whether that involves further development, maintenance or migration to Qlik Cloud.
Both are possible. Sometimes we set up a complete Qlik environment, while at other times we build a single dashboard or solve one specific problem. We look at what you need and tailor our approach accordingly.
Yes. We’re comfortable with your team becoming less dependent on us, so we’re happy to work alongside your people and share knowledge as we go. The more your team understands, the better. That way, your environment keeps running even when we’re not there.
Whether you want to set up a new Qlik environment, improve an existing one or simply discuss where you stand, Barry and Eric are happy to think it through with you. Email us, call us or schedule an appointment directly at a time that works for you.
