Sometimes, it is a new Power BI environment that you want to set up properly from the start. More often, it is one of these situations:

  • Power BI reports are getting slower and slower.
  • Finance and Sales calculate the same KPI differently.
  • No one knows which dataset is the authoritative source anymore.
  • Workspaces and reports have continued to grow organically.
  • Most of the knowledge needed to manage the environment resides with one colleague.
  • Microsoft Fabric is on the horizon, but no one knows exactly what to do with it.
  • You temporarily need additional Power BI capacity (more on this below).

Sound familiar? Then we probably have something to discuss. Schedule 30 minutes with us to talk through your Power BI question. Not ready for a call yet? Feel free to ask us your question.

Microsoft partner since 2015 · Certified Power BI & Fabric consultants · Practical and transferable · From report to foundation

A good Power BI environment consists of more than reports alone. Its value also lies in the data model, definitions, workspaces, and management. That is why we look not only at what users see, but also at the underlying layer.

New reports, faster reports, clearer insights

We build new Power BI reports and improve existing reports that are slow, complex, or unclear. We look beyond the visualizations and focus on the question the report needs to answer. A good report quickly shows what is happening and where action is needed.

Relationships, measures, performance, reusable models

We help with relationships, measures, DAX, structure, and performance. Where possible, we build reusable semantic models so that each report does not need to contain the same logic again.

Standardized definitions and KPIs

Different reports sometimes give different answers to the same question. We help standardize data sources, semantic models, KPIs, and definitions. This creates a reliable foundation for reporting, analysis, and decision-making.

Permissions, workspaces, ownership, documentation

Without clear agreements, duplicate datasets, disorganized workspaces, and reports with no clear owner can emerge. We help with permissions, ownership, deployment, naming, certification, documentation, and management practices.

Usage assessment, appropriate licensing advice

We assess usage and workload, advise on appropriate licenses and capacity, and identify opportunities for optimization. Scaling up is not always the only solution; sometimes a better model or refresh schedule is enough.

Lakehouses, pipelines, semantic models

Do you want to combine Power BI with Microsoft Fabric? We assess how Power BI fits within the broader data platform and which steps actually add value. We advise on how data sources, lakehouses, warehouses, pipelines, and semantic models work together, without requiring everything to move to Fabric right away.

AI is becoming an increasingly integral part of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. With Copilot, users can analyze data more quickly and ask questions about it. Fabric IQ and data agents also offer new ways to make data and business knowledge available to AI.

The quality of your semantic model remains important. Good definitions, relationships, measures, and governance help determine the context AI receives and how useful its answers are. You also need to decide carefully which models Copilot may and may not use.

We help you not only enable AI capabilities, but more importantly determine where they add real value and how to use them securely and in a manageable way.

This is how we work together on projects. We often start with a short proof of concept, so you can get a feel in advance for how the collaboration works and how the data behaves. We then decide together which format fits best.

  • We build it, you manage it. This is usually our starting point.
  • We build it together with you. Knowledge transfer and training during development.
  • We build it and continue to manage it. Through our support service.

Prefer temporary support rather than a fixed project? That is also possible, for example through a prepaid hours package. You can read more about this below.

At first glance, many Power BI issues appear to be reporting problems. A report is slow, figures do not match, or users do not trust the results. But the root cause often lies deeper.

Where does the data come from? What transformations take place before the data enters Power BI? Which dataset is authoritative? Who manages the definitions? And how do you prevent the same KPI from being calculated differently in three reports?

That is why we look at the entire data chain, from source data and data models to reports, governance, and management. This allows us to build Power BI solutions that not only present information effectively but also remain reliable.

Iceberg illustration: reports and dashboards are visible above the water, while semantic models, governance, and data sources are hidden below the surface.

We do not build Power BI environments as isolated reports that only their creator understands. That is why we use consistent principles for structure, naming, data models, measures, workspaces, security, deployment, and documentation.

Not because every project is the same, but because an environment remains manageable only when its foundation is sound. This ensures that your team knows where reports are located, which dataset is authoritative, and how changes are implemented in a controlled way.

This way of working aligns with our broader approach to Data & Analytics consultancy, in which we consider not only the tool but also its underlying foundation.

Power BI rarely operates entirely on its own. Your question may start with a report, but ultimately also involve data sources, modeling, management, or your broader Microsoft platform.

Learn more about the platform on our Power BI page.

Then it is not just about reporting, but also about your broader data foundation. On our Microsoft Fabric page, you can read how we approach Fabric consulting and implementation.

Is your Power BI environment already up and running, but do you need help with incidents, capacity monitoring, periodic checks, or ongoing improvements? Visit our page on support and management.

Power BI is one of the platforms we work with. On our Data & Analytics consulting page, you can read how we also work with Qlik, TimeXtender, and Microsoft Fabric.

A Power BI consultant helps design, build, improve, and manage Power BI reports and the surrounding environment. This includes data models, DAX, visualizations, workspaces, permissions, performance, governance, and connections to data sources or Microsoft Fabric.

Yes. Our consultants hold Microsoft certifications, including Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300), Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600), and Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700). This means we look beyond the report itself to the setup and underlying foundation.

Yes. Many projects start with reports that already exist but are slow, unclear, or difficult to maintain. We assess the data model, DAX, visualizations, datasets used, and how the report is managed.

Yes. This is often what makes the difference between a report that works and one that remains reliable. We help with data modeling, relationships, measures, DAX, performance, and reusable semantic models.

Yes. We help set up workspaces, permissions, ownership, deployment, naming, certification, documentation, and management agreements. This prevents Power BI from becoming a collection of disconnected reports and datasets that no one has clear ownership of.

Yes. We assess the usage and load of your Power BI environment and advise on the appropriate licenses and capacity. We also consider potential optimizations to data models, refreshes, and reports. Scaling up is sometimes necessary, but it is not always the first or only solution.

Yes. We help organizations that want to combine Power BI with Microsoft Fabric. We assess lakehouses, warehouses, pipelines, semantic models, and which components should or should not be moved to Fabric.

Learn more about our approach on the Microsoft Fabric Consulting page.

Yes. We help organizations transition from Qlik or other BI solutions to Power BI, potentially as part of Microsoft Fabric. We first assess the existing reports, data models, calculations, data sources, security, and usage. We then determine what should be migrated, improved, or phased out. This prevents an existing environment from being rebuilt one-for-one, including everything that is no longer needed.

Yes. We help you determine where Copilot genuinely adds value within Power BI and Microsoft Fabric and what is required to achieve this. We consider factors such as the quality of the semantic model, permissions, governance, and the settings that determine which models Copilot is allowed to use. We can also help set up and test specific use cases.

Yes. We often work with internal BI and data teams. Sometimes we build solutions ourselves; in other cases, we help with architecture, reviews, optimization, training, or a second opinion. The goal is to help your team better understand and manage the environment.

Both. Sometimes we help with a single report or a specific performance issue. Other times, the work involves a complete Power BI environment, including the data model, governance, and management. Our main focus is on what is needed to address your needs effectively.

Yes. In addition to complete projects, we also work on demand, for example through a prepaid hours package: you purchase hours or days in advance at a 10% discount on our regular rate and use them when needed. The hours remain valid for 12 months. This works well if the scope is not yet clear and you would rather not commit to a fixed project right away, if you temporarily need additional capacity, or if you want occasional support after a project has been completed without starting a new engagement. For many clients, it is also a good way to get to know us before moving on to a larger project. Would you prefer to pay by the hour? That is also possible, at our regular rate without a discount.

Yes. We work with organizations of different sizes, from smaller teams to large enterprises. A more focused engagement often suits a smaller organization: a single report, a second opinion, help with a specific issue, or on-demand support through a prepaid hours package if you only need occasional assistance. We adapt our approach to your situation rather than applying a fixed model.

Both are possible. We decide this together based on your preferences and what is most practical for the project.
