TimeXtender Delivers Full Microsoft Fabric Support

Deel dit bericht

As a proud partner of TimeXtender, Bitmetric is excited to share the transformative enhancements in their October 2025 release. TimeXtender’s latest update completes their journey to full Microsoft Fabric integration and introduces powerful new features across the Holistic Data Suite.

This release completes TimeXtender’s phased journey to deliver full support for Microsoft Fabric, advancing their integration from limited preview to a feature complete public preview.

You can now migrate existing TimeXtender solutions directly to Fabric Lakehouse without rebuilding logic. The system automatically generates Spark notebooks from no code models, translating transformations into production ready code.
Support now includes field validations, custom transformations, Type 2 slowly changing dimensions, custom hash fields, junk dimensions, and more.

Microsoft Fabric - Architecture

The release adds support for Direct Lake mode in Power BI. Users can query large datasets directly from Delta tables in OneLake. This enables near real time analytics without data duplication or scheduling overhead.

Power BI -Direct Lake Mode
  • Creation of notebook ready Spark views or persistent SQL endpoint views for downstream tools.
  • Automatic shortcuts in OneLake when no transformation is needed, reducing unnecessary data movement.
  • Support for service principal authentication to avoid prior reliance on non MFA users and improve security in automated deployments.
Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse Improvements

Beyond the Fabric integration, TimeXtender’s release brings performance, usability, and connectivity improvements across its Data Integration, Data Source Providers, Orchestration, and Data Quality modules.

The logging system for Ingest instances is revamped. It now uses a file based W3C Extended Log File Format. Administrators can configure retention and file sizes to manage storage.

Incremental loading is now supported for the generic REST connector. This lowers API call counts, reduces data transfer volume, and speeds execution. HubSpot and Exact Online connectors also benefit from this enhancement.

  • You can now set automatic retry counts for failed packages.
  • A new Continuous scheduling type allows workflows to restart immediately after completion.
  • The start page is redesigned, and error messages have been clarified for a better user experience.

This October release is a milestone in bridging modern data architecture with ease, automation, and flexibility. Key benefits:

  • Faster adoption of Microsoft Fabric with automatic Spark code generation, reducing the need for specialist engineers.
  • Lower operational costs through incremental loading, reduced data duplication, and performance optimizations.
  • Future proof infrastructure as TimeXtender’s metadata driven architecture lets your business logic stay consistent across storage backends such as Fabric, Azure, SQL Server, Snowflake, AWS, or on premises.
