13 juni 2025 Qlik Extension: Scroll to Object Deel dit bericht Ever since Qlik introduced extended sheets in June 2018, we at Bitmetric have been fans. The ability to extend a sheet vertically and add visualizations below the fold is a powerful way to present more insights without cluttering the main view. Yet, even after seven years, it still feels like a hidden feature. Many users simply don’t realize they can scroll down. Although the concept is common in web design, extended sheets in Qlik often go unnoticed. We’re regularly asked questions like “Where can I find the details?” or “Wasn’t there another chart?” even when those elements are just off-screen. We’ve tried to make it more discoverable, using visual cues like downward-pointing arrows at the bottom of the sheet. But even those are often overlooked. Introducing the Scroll to Object extension To make vertical scrolling more discoverable, we’ve created a new extension: Scroll to Object. This extension adds a customizable button that smoothly scrolls to a specific object when clicked. You can also configure it to scroll back to the top of the sheet. We chose smooth scrolling rather than instant jumping (which is possible with the standard button object) because it not only looks better, it also teaches users that scrolling is possible in Qlik dashboards. The animation below shows the extension in action. Get the Scroll to Object extension for Qlik Want to use this extension in your own environment? You can download it directly from our GitHub page.
