12 December 2022 Meet Vincent Hayward, Lead Consultant at Bitmetric Share this message The best employees are the ones who always take initiative and go the extra mile even when they don’t have to. Yes, we’re talking about Vincent Hayward! In November, we celebrated his six years work anniversary with Bitmetric. He is a great developer and a valuable member of the team. We asked Vincent a few questions and this is what he said: What is your favorite part about working at Bitmetric? I love my job! Every day brings new opportunities to solve interesting and significant problems with immediate and lasting effects. The challenge here is to provide a quick fix without compromising the quality in the long run. I surely get a huge kick out of figuring these things out. What are you most proud of in your career so far? Over the course of the last six years, I have worked hard to establish the Bitmetric Blueprint, a Governance Framework for Qlik Sense Enterprise. It is a method of working with Qlik Sense Enterprise that strikes a balance between structure and adaptability. The Bitmetric Blueprint allows for a quick start on development in areas where knowledge may be transferred to colleagues by deliberate design, as stated by one of my good colleagues, Daniel Verbrugge: “The level of bureaucracy is also ideal: Enough for control, but not too much that it becomes too overly complex for casual users”. What do you think makes Bitmetric’s culture unique? Trust, transparency, and the fact that no one gets left behind make our team culture strong. All our team members are equally invested and enthusiastic about anything related to data. Everybody brings a different skill to the table and that is what makes us such a strong team. How would you describe Bitmetric’s culture? When you work at Bitmetric, you can count on an open-door policy in which your ideas, recommendations, and concerns will be heard and addressed. Management puts a focus on keeping a check on worker satisfaction and providing prompt responses to challenges. Fridays are my favorite day of the week since everyone in the office is usually there, and we get to spend the day chatting about work-related matters, cracking jokes, and eating lunch together. Can you tell us more about how your career in Business Intelligence started? My professional journey began in 2004 as a web developer, and three years later I began working in the world of Business Intelligence at ProRail as a Business Intelligence consultant, where I created the dashboard RailFocus using Information Builders WebFocus. This is the spark that ignited my passion for analyzing and interpreting data. It was in my capacity as a (Data Warehouse) Developer at Datlinq in 2010 that I first fell in love with Qlik, namely with the QlikView application. Before leaving his consulting position at You-Get, Barry Harmsen, now proud owner of Bitmetric, set up the QlikView system at Datlinq together. So, we stayed in contact, and after a few years, I joined his team and never looked back ever since. What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading? Two of my favorite shows are Vandaag Inside and Veronica Offside. If you could have any superpower, what would it be? To be able to read minds, because it would make our work so much simpler as a consultant. 😉 Vincent, you have been such a remarkable team player and we are lucky to have you! How can we help?
